The lecture presented by Dr. Michael Norton was part of the 34th Annual USC International Periodontal & Implant Symposium held in Los Angeles in 2009. Dr. Norton is a graduate of the University of Wales School of Dental Medicine. He runs a dedicated implant practice in Harley Street, London. He is a specialist in Oral Surgery and is Visiting Professor at Marquette Dental School in Milwaukee, USA. He was recently awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh for his contribution to the field of implant dentistry. Dr. Norton is Past President and currently Scientific Chairman of the ociation of Dental Implantology, UK and is both Board Member and Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration (AO). He is the immediate Past Editor of the AOs Academy News and is currently ociate Editor of the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants. He also serves as a referee for a number of other peer-review journals. Dr. Norton lectures internationally, and is widely published in the literature including one of the earliest Quintessence textbooks on the subject published in 1995. He is a joint owner and editor of the journal Dental Implant Summaries.

The lecture presented by Dr. Ricardo Teles was part of the 34th Annual USC International Periodontal & Implant Symposium held in Los Angeles in 2009. Dr. Teles graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and received a postgraduate certificate in Periodontology and a Doctor of Medical Sciences degree in Oral Biology from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Teles has held the positions of Head of the Department of Periodontology and Dean of the Estacio de Sa School of Dentistry in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is currently an ociate Member of the Staff in the Department of Periodontology at the Forsyth Institute and a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Periodontology at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Boston, MA. His current research efforts focus on the impact of the subgingival biofilm composition on the expression of inflammatory mediators in periodontal diseases. He has published over 30 manuscripts and book chapters. Dr. Teles lectures nationally and internationally in the field of Periodontology.

USC Dentistry: Periodontics & Implant Dentistry Symposium 2008 (Dr. D. Guichet)

The lecture presented by Dr. David Guichet was part of the 33rd Annual USC Periodontal & Implant Symposium held in Los Angeles in 2008. Dr. Guichet is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a graduate of the Maxillofacial Prosthetics Residency at UCLA. He completed a Prosthodontic Residency at the VAMC Wadsworth in West Los Angeles, a GPR at the VAMC in Long Beach, CA, and received a DDS from UCLA. Dr. Guichet served as editor for the Academy of Osseointegration News and as Past-President of the Osseointegration Foundation. Together with his brother and father he maintains a prosthodontic practice in Orange, California where he has developed and installed a comprehensive digital clinical records process.
